Known as the Queen of Canción Nacional ("The Queen of National Song"), Jaramillo was born in 1904 (July 09th, Ecuador) and performed for a solid half century, from 1922 up until 1972." She was married to an actor, singer and composer "Araujo Jorge Chiriboga", with whom she had two children. She grew up in a musical environment where members of her family (maternal grandfather & one of her uncles) accompany her singing with Guitar playing. She died in 1987 (December 10th, Ecuador) at the age of 83 and received recognition from the highest levels of the state at her funeral.
