Artist
Born in 1981 in Lund, raised in Helsingborg, Sweden, Carl Petersson started to play piano at the age of fifteen. Ten years later he graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he completed both his studies in piano and pedagogics with Professor José Ribera. During his studies, Carl took part in numerous international masterclasses in Denmark, Sweden and Israel. Four times in a row he got a scholarship to the Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes where he studied with the Israeli legend Prof. Pnina Salzman, Prof. Victor Derevianco, Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky, Prof. Vadim Monastyrsky, Prof. Staffan Scheja and Prof. Nicolai Petrov. Carl has performed as a soloist as well as with orchestras on numerous occasions in Sweden, Denmark, Poland, France, The Czech Republic, Germany and Israel. In 2009, he also makes his North American debut when he is to perform with the West Coast Symphony in Vancouver, Canada. Carl also frequently performs with chamber music and singers. He is a prize winner of numerous competitions. In Israel, during the Tel-Hai Master Classes, he was awarded with the Isman Family Prize – for a commendable performance. As a teacher, Carl taught one year at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He also prepared piano students at Per Brahegymnasiet, Jonköping, Sweden and at Birka Folk University, Östersund, Sweden, where he was substituting as head of the piano department.
