Carl Latann Carl Latann (Born 28 July 1840 in Kleinleinungen (Thuringia, Germany); † 15 October 1888 in Bad Freienwalde (near Berlin)) was a German military musician and head of first marinemusikkorpssett in Germany In October 1871 Emperor Wilhelm established a permanent navy band in Wilhelmshaven, and Carl Latann was appointed director. On February 1, 1884 Latann was replaced and discharged from the navy.
