Carl Ferdinand (Carl F. Gjerdrum jr) is a songwriter/singer/bassplayer working out of Oslo in Norway. He play and have played in many different styles like jazz, soul funk, folk and pop/rock with bands like jazz quartet Quarter Past, 11-piece soul/funk band The GrooveExperience and party band Los Machos. He write music for most of the bands his in, and have also written songs together with soul singer Guri Stubberud for her upcoming debut album. Carl Ferdinand have worked for a long time as a bass player with folk artist Silje Hrafa, and played upright bass on her debut album "Vanilla kiss". You can also hear him on the two albums by Quarter Past: Smash no flash (2004) and "Boom-pah" (2006), besides Richard Nygaard's album Book Of Vast Ideas and Rolf Aakerviks "Bare for deg". Through The GrooveExperience project (www.thegrooveexperience.com) he's played with artists like Omar (UK), Nate James, Siji, Side Brok, Jonas (DK), Spleen (F), Baron Faty (F), Anthony Mills, Jaqee, Mary N'diaye (SE), Sante, Noora Noor, Myrna Braza, Samsaya, Sofian, Haakon Rasmussen (NO), Wisnu, Daniel Glaister (NO), Aché (NO), Kristin Hild, Mikkel Aakervik (NO), Queendom, Petter Aagaard (NO), Son of Light, Geisha (US), Lars Larssen, Cesca (NO), Wenche Losnegaard (NO), Reza Aghamir and Mona Bekkelund (NO).
