Artist
Every piece of Carl Culley's shimmering sound is flavored with 80's neon flare, soaring melodies, and a positively queer sensability. His energetic shows are fueled by his powerful voice & his music is instantly relatable. A producer for many NYC nightlife & Broadway artists, Carl shares his unique sound with any artist he works with. Born & raised in Houston, TX, Carl has been writing & recording original music since the age of 8. His passion for music led him to NYC, where he has performed with his band since 2014. He’s played venues such as Highline Ballroom, Rockwood Music Hall, Gold Sounds, Mercury Lounge, & Cameo Gallery. His synthy pop sound has been called “soulful” and “nostalgic”. In 2015, he released his EP My Champion, and this past February released his latest 3 track EP, It All Feels New. He has also written & produced for other artists, including Joey Contreras, Brandon Hudson, Jack & The Beanstalk, Isabelle Gottfried, & Dionne Slay. He also co-wrote the theme song for the new drag competition series, “Camp Wannakiki”. He’s been featured on several collaborative efforts in a variety of genres, including with EDM artist Palladium on a track called Chroma, and will shortly be featured on retro artist The Ghost Mall’s upcoming EP, In Rewind.
