Canturbe is an Argentinean progressive rock/fusion band from Buenos Aires. One of the most remembered 'urban' rock bands of the eighties, they are now back with a new album, “Sociedad secreta de melancólicos” (Melancholics' Secret Society). The band that covered Buenos Aires with stickers advertising themselves and their show, which consisted of songs that merged perfectly English and native rock with modern tango-styled sounds, Canturbe managed to record their first album at the end of 1980, “El vuelo de los olvidados" (The flight of the forgotten ones), including the song of the same name, which talked in poetic terms about the missing people during Argentina's dictatorship prohibition. The album featured Charly García, while he was still exploring symphonic and tango music. The album was re-issued in 2005 by indie label Viajero Inmóvil in several Latin American countries, Europe and Japan. It found praise among the press and some independant progressive rock record labels. With this new-found support, Jorge Garacotche (founding member) decided to re-launch Canturbe and go back to the studio with a group of friends: drummer Kike Gentile Pont, bassist Moroco, percussionist and backing vocalist Daniel González.
