I Cantori Gregoriani are a male voice group which exclusively dedicates itself to the study and the spread of Gregorian chant. Consisting entirely of specialists, the ensemble bases its own performances on the research of semiology, that is the study of antique manuscripts dating from the Xth –X1th centuries. The performances of the group are aimed at transmitting, through the actual instruments of the semiology, the expressive force of Gregorian chant, i.e. the correct musical representation of the ancient exegetic tradition of the sacred texts. The founder and director of the group is Fulvio Rampi, professor in Gregorian chant at the school of Luigi Agustoni, teacher in Pre-polyphony at the Conservatorium in Turin and chapel master of the cathedral of Cremona. I Cantori Gregoriani have performed extensively. They can proudly say they have performed in Italy and abroad (Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Slovenia, Lebanon, Brazil) for important cultural and musical associations. From 1995 to 1998 the group carried out four tours of Japan, with concerts being held in the main cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kumamoto, Nagano, Yokohama). In 1996 it took part, as the only Gregorian chant group, at the Orthodox Music Festival with a concert in the Main Hall of the “Tchaikovsky” Conservatorium in Moscow (Russia). In 2002 the group was invited to hold two concerts on the occasion of the prestigious "Festival of two worlds" in Spoleto and in el
