Camille Miller (whose married name is Camille Herbison) has never been one to avoid facing her demons. This process began in full force during her early teenage years as a way to express her frustration with the lack of outward communication that comes with the territory of growing up as an “army brat”. Songs enabled her to get her voice heard under the less threatening and clever disguise of a cute song. Born in Germany, and raised on military bases all across Canada, Camille grew up on Motown, Carly Simon, The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and the Rolling Stones. These artists shaped Camille’s musical tastes at an early age, and were the voices that put her to sleep at night and still provide comfort to her as she brings an updated version of vocal grace and soul of yesteryears to her modern pop sound. Since the mid-90’s she has been based out of the Vancouver/Victoria area. In 1998 Camille released her first solo album “Things People See”, during which time she continued honing her skills as a songwriter, singer and guitar player. With help of producer Doug Elliott and Drummer Pat Steward (The Odds), and the introduction to co-writer Nick Haggar. Camille’s sophomore release “She Knows” (Synergy Records 2002) garnered a Much Music Video grant for “I Always Will” and two placements on the popular TV series “Cold Squad”.
