Artist
Cameron Picton (born Cameron Overeynder, June 1999), known professionally under the alias Camera Picture, is an English multi-instrumentalist currently based in London. He was a founding member of the experimental rock band black midi, playing with the group until its disbandment in July 2024. He performed on all three of their studio albums, Schlagenheim, Cavalcade and Hellfire, all of which were critically acclaimed. In April 2024, Cameron opened for all dates on fellow London band and frequent collaborators', Black Country, New Road, US Tour under the name Camera Picture. While debuting new solo material in his live set, he also sold a mixtape CD titled 44m50s consisting of various material recorded from 2017-2024. The CD was later reissued and sold on Bandcamp. In response to bandmate Geordie Greep's announcement that Black Midi had broken up, Cameron stated that "We’d agreed not to say anything about ‘breaking up’ so I was as blindsided as everyone else last night but maybe in a different way. I guess sometimes all you can say is lol. Anyway! Starting sessions for my own record soon, looking forward – should be good, hopefully great!" He announced a second mixtape CD in September titled 36m33s, consisting of live recordings, due to release in November.
