about

Calvin Marty is a singer-songwriter from Chicago, Illinois, USA. After studying acting at The Theatre School (formerly the Goodman School of Drama) he returned to his first love: writing music. In 2006, he self-released his first record, "Save Yourself." Fully written, recorded and produced out of his Logan Square apartment, "Save Yourself" is an intimate collection of raw and confession-filled acoustic songs. After his valiant first effort, Calvin took a break from performing live to write new music and is currently (June '07) recording his next album. Still unsigned, it's only a matter of time before a label snatches him up. In Chicago, Calvin Marty is known for his powerful live shows. Tending toward extremely emotional performaces, most say that his music is best appreciated live. His weakness is perhaps that he doesn't play enough. He tends to disappear and reappear at will, spending much time fleshing out his songs before putting them on the stage. Though currently unavailable in stores, his first record can be purchased on iTunes or through his website, www.calvinmarty.com.
