Calc music is a blend between british pop and american folk, their soft tunes sound like great figures like Grandaddy or Elliot Smith from the other side of the Atlantic. Full of grace, the third opus "Any Downs At All" of these Bordeaux guys is enriched by Rudy Cocklet's production (Arno, Experience) which makes their album be the most complete and the most captivated they have ever recorded. For already 6 years, Calc has been carrying its own sweet way on the steep paths of English pop well balanced with American folk. Travelling across Europe, going in search of people keen on melancholy emotions and electric shocks, the band has conquered its audience with its sense of delicate melodies. At the beginning, about 1996, Julien Pras decided to record on 4tracks desperate love lyrics laid on intimist melodies, widely inspired by the America of Palace, Sebadoh. Despite the multiple ressources of his talent, Julien’s soon felt the need of other personalities a little bit less hypersensitive than himself in order to forge ahead and appear on stage . This is how Calc is born with Mathieu LEGALL (keyboards), Hugo BERROUET (drums), David ARGELIES (guitar), and later joined by David LESPES (Bass Guitar – also in Pull; ex-Mary’s Child) . Calc left its doubts and timidity at home before going to the Rising Sun Studio where Rudy Coclet (Sharko, Experience, Arno…) recorded the 11 songs of “Any Dows At All” soon released by Vicious Circle in France & Shwitzerland, 62 TV in Bénélux and
