Caesar Of Cymatics is the sonic brainchild of 18-year-old Manchester born songwriter and frontman, Tom Clegg. Influenced and driven in equal measure by the city’s lost post-punk and indie legacy - the Cottonopolis sound - picking up where his predecessors left off, crafting music that’s immersive, cinematic, and unapologetically interesting. What began in 2021, at 14-years-old, as a nervous first attempt at songwriting with the track It’s Plain Knowing, recorded with his dad’s friend Oz Cooper, has evolved into a fully realized band and creative project. By 2022, Clegg began writing prolifically and creating demos, laying the foundations for the project. Early 2023 live shows saw shifting lineups at local and iconic venues such as the Deaf Institute and Academy 3. By 2025, the band solidified with Sam Baker (lead guitar), Milo Cuff (drums), and Harry Rundle (bass), forging a more mature sound: cinematic, angsty yet wise, raw yet theatrical. The quintet create music steeped in youth, alienation, beauty, guilt and philosophy staged through post-punk, dream pop and art rock.
