Artist
Solo artist Cabaret Rat hails from Banbury, Oxon. His musical influences come from a selection of bands from the eighties/early nineties American alt rock and industrial movements, such as Ministry, Jim Foetus and Big Black, as well as British punk, and later dance and electronica. He started writing in 2006, with the release of his debut lp 'Infected Milk', and subsequently started performing in 2007. Following soon after was the 'Scaring Little Albert' lp, and in 2010 the 'Walking With Sharks' mini-album. All have been self-released through his own label, Cab. The new 'Billie Funday' ep contains four tracks connected by the story of a young runaway, escaping her hometown in the North-west of England, and ending-up on the streets of London. Dark and disturbing, the lyrics are driven along by harsh punk guitars, home-grown samples and electronics. The EP cover is an original painting by NYC artist Simon Pocock, entitled 'So Trusting In Her God'. The 'Billie Funday' ep is a new free/donate download release available through cabaretrat.bandcamp.com.
