There are two bands with the name "Creaks" - one is the Canadian band Creaks and the other is the Japanese band CREAKS. 'Creaks' is an underground band from Edmonton formed in 2010 by four multi-instrumental friends (Aiden, Adrian, Christopher and Katrina). While they label themselves as a garage band, they do not fit neatly into any genre. Drawing influence from the 60's as well as more contemporary bands, Creaks use a wide variety of instruments like the xylophone and the omnichord and have multiple vocalists to cover several styles. References to strong psychedelic influences such as 'The Velvet Underground', as well as jazzy bands like 'The Zombies' seem to be revived in the melodies and strange chords this band thrives on. 'Creaks' music is self-recorded both digitally and on 4-track tape decks. They have been steadily gaining both fans and shows since their public debut in early summer 2011. They mean to bring back interesting melodies and strong song writing into a world that is full of autotuners and catchy club bass.
