"Rap music is something that I have not been able to understand for sometime, mostly because the music in the background of the rhymes is so terrible. When I listen to a good song, all of the elements need to be represented in the best manor possible. Honestly, the only rap song I could ever wrap my hands around was a track called June off of RJD2’s Deadringer, the feeling you get when listening to the music composed in that song matches the meaning and the depth of the lyrics, and essentially give the effect of both elements becoming intertwined, resulting in a flawless track. That should be the goal of every musician, whether you are a rapper or in a five-piece band. CL Sosa has been able to aspire to such a feat, the music behind his rhymes are incredible, it can be most nearly represented as rhymes on top of a wave of dream pop. He categorizes himself, generally, under ‘indie experimental hip hop’, which I would say is pretty accurate. His words are meaningful, and his flow is solid. There is not much room for criticism on this track, it is most definitely flawless.
