CIFIKA is a South Korean electronic / electropop singer-songwriter and producer from Seoul, South Korea. The solo project of Cho Yousun, CIFIKA was launched in 2016 and is known for blending atmospheric electronic production with R&B and experimental influences, often incorporating bilingual lyrics in English and Korean. Her debut EP, INTELLIGENTSIA (2016), established her signature layered production style. This was followed by her first full-length album, HANA (2020), which explored themes of nature and emotion through elemental imagery including soil, water, fire, and wind. Her second album, ION (2023), continued to develop her electronic sound with astrological and scientific metaphors, while Bonfire (2024) introduced warmer, more organic instrumentation blending elements of alternative folk and ambient pop into her production approach. CIFIKA's music is characterized by ethereal vocals that function as both melodic and textural elements, self-produced arrangements using Ableton, and a bicultural perspective shaped by time spent in both South Korea and the United States. Her work often explores themes of identity, memory, and the intersection of technology and emotion. Her releases are distributed independently through digital platforms including Bandcamp.
