CELL-セル- is a visual-kei band formed in 2012 from the ashes of the bands La'Mule and NightingeiL. While performing one-man shows as CELL, the band performs at live events under the name 血と包帯(Chi to Houtai) in different costumes. They have been on hiatus since January 2015. La'Mule was a popular visual-kei group signed to the Soleil label during the late 1990's who went on hiatus until 2011. After a brief revival, the band announced their final demise and disbanded in 2012. NightingeiL was also a visual-kei band, but formed in 2008 and disbanded in the summer of 2012. What all three of these band have in common is the vocalist Kon, giving the works of all three bands a very distinct similarity. Shortly after forming, it was announced that the band would go on a 5 consecutive month one-man event series, release a 1 track single per live, and that an album is due to be released in December of 2012. The promised album was eventually postponed after it was announced that MASATO left the band due to health problems on October 20th. In its place, a 4-track maxi-single with a PV will be released in December and the album will be released later in 2013. Instead of an album, the band released 3 more maxi-singles and 1 split single with the band 凛 -the end of corruption world-, then announced they would be going on hiatus at the beginning of 2015.
