DJ CA$HMERE was born near Toronto, Canada and grew up in a typicaly bland suburban setting. However, his sights were locked on the cities where he longed to rather be. Influenced by Chicago, New York & Detriot dance music, he started playing out when he was a teenager at house parties, block parties and neighbourhood clubs and selling mix tapes in the hood with his former crew. His broad DJ influences range from Jack Master Funk to Funkmaster Flex and from Kraftwerk to Daft Punk - but moreso the Ghetto Tech originators DJ Funk and DJ Assault. Electro was also a big influence on DJ CA$HMERE's production interests and led him to produce his crew's first EP project. He also helped push both the electro and ghetto tech sound into the region when it wasn't so popular or mainstream. Electro Booty as a genre has its roots in Ghetto Tech and Miami Bass. A mix of Electro, Acid House, Electroclash and raunchy Hip-Hop style vocals makes the Electro Booty sound. This melding of sounds is what has helped make CA$HMERE's music so appealing to so many people across different genres. What words can describe the one and only CA$HMERE? Pioneer? Crowd-favorite?
