Artist
After playing with indie rock band The Naïve, c.layne started writing specifically for a solo project in the winter of 2000. His first album, Albumone, was entirely instrumental and released mostly among family and friends. He spent the next 2 years writing for a second album, recording hundreds of tracks. Ultimately, they were all scrapped, and his first official album, Antonymic, was written and recorded over a four day period in the summer of 2003. The mid-fi recording and lavish use of reverb gives this album a decidedly 1960's psychedelic feel. In the winter of 2003, c.layne signed with Magnatune, an online record label. A compilation album was released shortly after. Potemkin Villages saw a mixture of tracks from Antonymic and Drawing Shapes with Sounds, as well as some new material written specifically for the release. In the early months of 2004, c.layne paired up with electronic artist and producer Victor Stone of fourstones.net to produce his third official album, The Sun Will Come Out to Blind You. Writing, recording and production went on throughout the year and the album was finished in December. It was released on Magnatune in January of 2005. Stones' production g
