An American project originating in Kansas City, Missouri. Started in 2010 as a traditional rock band, Buyer Beware evolved into a loose collective of Topeka, Lawrence and KC musicians. The group hints something reminiscent of Soundgarden's sludgy grunge and Pink Floyd's psychedelia, while implementing modern alternative and British indie style a la The Boxer Rebellion and Exit Calm. Frontman and composer Mark Feuerborn haunts with Alice In Chains-influenced harmonic vocals, and combines an arsenal of electric guitars and bass lush with reverb and spacey tone. Drummers Ethan Biron and Jarred Stangohr counter each other; the first gently brings swinging rhythm on some songs, and the latter gives a driving sonic punch on the rest. Matt Legler plucks acoustic in Antoine Dufour fingerstyle fashion, and Ian Tacke blends in Rush undertones with his 12-string. Julia Davis, armed with her violin, is a final orchestral twist.
