Burning Orange was a short-lived hardcore/grunge/nu-metal project of Henrik Ostergaard, frontman of San Francisco bay area hard rock band Dirty Looks. After Dirty Looks split-up in 1993, Ostergaard and Jassen Wilber (also of Dirty Looks) went on and formed Rumbledog. The band line-up consisted of Henrik Ostergaard (vocals, guitar), Jassen Wilber (bass), Mike Ondersek (guitars), Mike Smith (guitar) and Ron Sutton (drums). Sound was more hard rock/heavy metal, and under name Rumbledog the band released two albums in 1993 and 1995. While material was written for follow up, significant change in sound and heaviness forced Ostergaard and the rest of the band to form another outfit, and look for another vocalist who would fit better with new direction. Although unknown, Scott Robinson proved to be right man for the lead vocalist, and Burning Orange were born. They released 8-song debut "Taar" in 1996, and year later re-released it with bonus tracks under name "Thirteen". The band disbanded shortly after, and band members went separate ways; Henrik Ostergaard re-formed Dirty Looks in 2007 and Mike Smith went on to play in Snot and later on Limp Bizkit. Although band gained little or no success after album release, in the years that followed Burning Orange claimed somewhat cult status among followers and attention it deserved, often being quoted as "one of the most underappreciated and overlooked bands of the late 90's".
