Burn Rome in a Dream formed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the summer of 1997 under the name Holding Pattern, defining themselves in vague opposition to the somewhat muscular hardcore then predominant in their suburban scene. The evolution of their craft has seen them move away from early experiments with vocals and keyboards, to a more focused exploration of the guitar-bass-drums dynamic. Burn Rome In A Dream confound audience expectations by fusing primal rock expression with a concentrated emphasis on song structure. The result is a wholly unique sound, born of an instinct that music is as much a product of tension, as an expression of harmony.
