Founded in 1993, Bulgari is a professional ensemble of Bulgaria’s elite folk musicians—many are soloists from the prestigious Philip Koutev National Folklore Ensemble Instruments include traditional ones such as gajda (bagpipe), kaval (flute), gadulka (vertical fiddle), tambura (long-necked lute), and featured vocals by top soloists like Radostina Kaneva and Neli Andreeva. Bulgari performed at venues such as the Kennedy Center, UCLA, and Duke University, showcasing regional Bulgarian folk across major world stages. Repertoire spans Bulgaria’s six primary regions (Thrace, Shopluka, Pirin, Rhodope, Dobruja, NW Bulgaria), highlighting instruments and vocal styles unique to each.
