Buck Clayton was born in Kansas, November 12, 1911 and died in New York City, December 8, 1991. He played trumpet with Count Basie and went on to form his own orchestra. In the 1950's he was noted for his mainstream jam sessions. His most famous recordings were Robins Nest and The Hucklebuck.
