Bryce Jardine, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, combines simple and beautiful melodies with dense lyrics full of imagery and story. Bryce has been pursuing his musical interests since as far back as he can remember. He was songwriter and lead singer in the bands Synaesthetic and Dog Tooth Violet in his home town of London, Ontario. He set off on his own in Toronto, to concentrate on writing his own music in 2010. His first solo album The Kids Are Gone was recorded at Lincoln County Social Club, and produced by Derek Downham (The Beauties/Six Shooter Records). The album features performances by Serena Ryder (Juno Award Winner), Derek Downham, Aaron Goldstein (City & Color), Michael O’Grady (The Mahones), Christina Zaza and Marisa Zaza. It was engineered by John Dinsmore (Kathleen Edwards, Sarah Harmer), mixed by Jameson Elliot and mastered by Joao Carvalho. Derek Downham has said that “What came out of those sessions is a dynamic album filled with grace, hope and redemption. I believe we achieved the record we wanted to complete: A solid, roots/rock record, steeped in the past and the future.” Bryce has recently formed a new band, The Parlour Birds, with Nathan Gray (Townes & Cities), Brad Kilpatrick (Holy Fuck, Kathleen Edwards), Michelle Willis (Three Metre Day, Stuart McClean and the Vinyl Café, Iggy Pop), and Bean Friend (Kenny Rogers).
