Artist
The one-man experimental music project Brownian Motion was started by Walter Lapchynski (also in The ERNIE 4) in 2009 when he realized that the tools to make noise were literally right at his fingertips-- his computer. Working exclusively in the digital domain, Brownian Motion is equal parts plunderphonics, hacktivism, culture jamming, and conceptual anti-art. All sounds available as Creative Commons-licensed, name-your-price downloads at the Brownian e/Motion(s) netlabel page, http://brownianmotion.bandcamp.com. There was another one at one point. It's unclear if they still exist, but here's some info: Brownian Motion were formed in 2009 when Emily started working with Russ, a local guitar and bass player. They have played a number of acoustic gigs at venues around the Midlands and Oxfordshire since then and have just released a promo EP which was recorded “as live” with additional keyboards. They intend to play live as much as possible while working on some new material and have plans to record and produce a debut album for 2012 release. Emily’s voice has been widely praised and compared to some great singers including Joni Mitchell and Sandy Denny. She draws from a wide influence of singers and bands such as Suzanne Vega, Gomez, Ben Folds and Turin Brakes.
