BrokenPeople, formed in 2006, is 4-piece melodic rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. The band's sound is an alternative blend of rock, melody and ambience with a sometimes personal, sometimes philosophical lyrical focus. Influences include Death Cab for Cutie, Snow Patrol, Jimmy Eat World, Hammock, Switchfoot and Crowded House. Their debut album, Open Spaces, was released on the 22nd October 2011. Their dream is to open for Switchfoot.
