British Acid is an acid/electro group from the United Kingdom, working in the style of soft, home listening oriented acid and electro, peppered with elements of Kraftwerk, Mr Fingers, Detroit Techno, and Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works. Two albums have been released so far, British Acid Trax followed by British Acid Trax II: Cruise Control. Their name refers to old British industries such as British Rail, British Telecom, and British Gas. During live sets the band is known to wear Thomas the Tank Engine costumes that cover their faces. Some artwork for albums and gigs has a railway theme. According to an interview with NME, British Acid tend to prefer playing smaller gigs in Wales, Cornwall, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
