Bringing A Shark to A Gunfight is a deathcore, although they proclaim themselves to be in the genre "funcore", band from Johannesburg, South Africa. The band's first live show was in 2009. The band has made a name for itself through brutal breakdowns and an intense live preformance and stage presence. The band's first live appearance was on 27 June 2009 at the Purity Monster Party. Since then the band has been spreading their sound through tours in and around Johannesburg. The did a mini-tour of Bloemfontein, Free State with fellow Johannesburg deathcore bands The Dead Will Tell and Facing The Gallows. They have made many trips to other cities around South Africa which attributes to their growing fanbase. At the begining of 2012 the band went on the "Beginnging Of The End 2012" nationwide tour of South Africa to showcase their EP Oceans, realesed April 2011. Late 2011 the Band became the first South African band to be sposored by Berma Clothing Southern California. Bringing A Shark To A Gunfight is: Eben Leach(Vocals), Tim Atkinson(Guitar), Tim Dell(Bass), Rheese van der Merwe(Guitar) and Cameron Crichton(drums). Tim Dell's future in the band is uncertain as he is a professional BMX rider and wnats to focus most of his efforts there. Tim Atkinson and Cameron have been around the South African scene for a while, having both been a part of Deatharise in 2000. Cameron is also a qualified sound engineer with Smack Entertainment.
