Artist
Hailing from Aalborg, Denmark, Leif Berg Jensen is the mind behind BrightLight. Beginning with his first release in 1997, he has released individual tracks and EP under this and other pseudonyms, on such labels as Karmarouge, Tic Tac Toe, and Mermaids In Space, to name a few. Leif's great passion for music was sparked in the earliest years of his life, when his father would lull him to sleep with the soothing melodies of such early new age artists as Jean Michel Jarré and Vangelis (naturally a big influence). At the time (1991), he was in school for graphic design, and spent a great deal of his time (and all of his money) buying records at the local record shop. It was at this shop that he met Claus Larsen ("Leather Strip"), whose record-buying advice was always sound (pun intended). In 1997, Leif signed his first release with a local record label -- a 12" called "Feeling Weird". This melodic downtempo track made its way onto the classic Café del Mar series, and was eventually re-released on the Café del Mar 20th A
