Wise beyond her 17 years, Bridie Heaton is a superstar in the making. With her stunning looks, naturally melodious voice, and unique sense of style, this British songstress is poised for success. Although she was never directly exposed to the art of making music, as many of her contemporaries have, music has always been a passion for Bridie. "I've always felt like music is a part of me," she says. "Each song takes me back to the moment I've experienced it. It's amazing!" Growing up in Britain, Bridie wasn't always the confident and charismatic young woman she is today. "I was bullied and picked on," she confesses. Things didn't get much easier for her. "I've been through so many hard times," she lets on. "Like an abusive relationship that lasted 2 years, and having no money." She didn't let any of her hardships discourage her. Quite the contrary; she turned all of her experiences into songs. "The best thing about being able to pick up a pen and write music is that I can let it out all out," she says. "It's therapeutic for me." Bridie got her big break when a song she recorded leaked onto the internet as a Britney Spears demo. "It came as such a shock," she recalls. "I came downstairs in the morning and checked my Hotmail. I had so many notifications! It was surreal." Although she does like Britney - "Britney is my idol," she says - Bridie is pretty keen on making a name for herself. "I think it's so funny. Even our names look quite similar," she jokes.
