Brian Ralston is a classically trained Hollywood-based music score composer. His score for 9/Tenths won a Gold Medal at the 2007 Park City Film Music Festival for best music in a Feature Film. In 2006, he composed the score for the teen heist movie Graduation. Brian produced and scored the music for "The Receipt", a short film that won the "Best Comedy Award" at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival 2005, the "Best Short Audience Award" at the 25th Breckenridge Festival Of Film 2005, the "Gold Medal for Excellence" and the Aurora Award for the music score at the Park City Film Music Festival. The Receipt was shortlisted for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences consideration for the Oscar® award for best live action short film in 2005. Brian studied film music composition and conducting at the University of Arizona under film/TV composer Jeff Haskell. His project collaborations include Linda Ronstadt's Christmas album Merry Little Christmas in 2000. In 2002, Brian completed graduate level work in the Scoring for Motion Pictures & Television program at the University of Southern California. He has studied with Christopher Young, Elmer Bernstein, David Raksin, Joe Harnell, Jack Smalley, George Burt, David Spear, Steven Scott Smalley and the late Buddy Baker. Brian has composed additional orchestral underscore for the 20th Century Fox Television series "Angel" (1999/I) (exec. prod. Joss Whedon).
