1- Brian Mc Carthy is a jazz saxophonist 2- Brian McCarthy, DJ and producer from Cork, Ireland began his music career as a producer in summer 2011. He began experimenting with all genres of EDM and electronica and found progressive house, trance, chillout and liquid drum & bass to be his areas of interest. He was voted on DJ Mag (TDJL) 2nd best DJ in his home town Cork and peaked at 15th out of 425 DJs in Ireland. He's currently 25th in the world in Chillout. 2012 was an amazing year for Brian. Remixing ADELEs track Skyfall went viral on the local radio stations and with over 200 downloads in a week. His trance song 'La Isla Blanca' also raised some popularity. He's also had a great year producing his own original music and some new electro tracks along side Cork producer DESCA. Q: Did anyone influence you to produce music? A: It wasn't exactly anyone in particular. I always enjoyed music by Eric Prydz and he did have a strong influence on the genres I produced at the beginning of my career. Most of music is produced under the influence of my surroundings. The people I'm with, the weather, the time of day etc.. Q: What are your plans for 2013? A: I try not to get excited or make huge plans but what I can confirm is a new EP 'Las Islas Baleares'. I can also confirm some new tracks DESCA and myself have been working on.
