Brett Ratliff is a member of a new generation of musicians who are taking up the traditional music of Appalachia and presenting it to audiences at home and around the world. Brett, a frequent member of and collaborator with string bands through Eastern Kentucky, released his debut solo album Cold Icy Mountain in June 2008. Members of the Clack Mountain String Band, another of Brett's projects, and other artists from the area join Brett in this exploration of the deep roots of Appalachian music.
