Bree started her career in America singing around Irish clubs in Detroit Michigan doing a five hour set of Irish ballads. She then returned home to join up with the Boulder Band in the late 70s. With herself and Marion Byrne on vocals, John O’Brien (guitar) Ken Doyle (bass) and Paul Fairclough on Drums, sometimes doubling up on guitar which was a talking point back then, but paid off handsomely when he played the Peter Green classic, “Albatross”. Playing an eclectic mix of country rock and blues to packed audiences around Dublin, crowds lined up halfway down the street and people danced on tables. A magical time indeed. After the Boulder split John O Brien, Ken Doyle and Marion Byrne joined forces with Liam Reilly to form the well known Bagatelle. Marion has since moved to America. Bree and Paul then formed the Alias B. Band. Original members were Niall Mc Sweeney(guitar), John Morris(keyboards) and John Kearns (bass) and Paul Fairclough (drums). In between Paul switched back to guitar and for a while they were joined on drums by the great Fran Breen who’s worked with Nancy Griffiths, Lucinda Williams and many other great names. One of the most popular line ups was when Robbie Overson came on board. A very fine guitar player, working with the likes of Sonny Condell, Scullion, Mary Black, and many more.
