Post hardcore/emocore from Red Bank, NJ. Released a S/T EP and 2 demos, active from 2003-2005. "in january 2003, being at a state of discontent with the present punk scene, evan waterman, chris karl, and jared hensley (the story so far) invited ed whelan to play lead guitar for their band, in hopes to give them more of an edge over the (what they felt to be) decadent scene. at the time, ed was mostly influenced by straight-up hardcore (every time i die, norma jean, shai hulud), but he thought it would be cool to play in a band again, so he joined. soon, the story so far rapidly became a harder band, but it still didn't feel right. after a few unsuccessful shows, they decided to disband. chris and jared went off to join a senses fail-esque emotional band looking to get signed to drive-thru records, and evan and ed began rapidly began feeding off new influences and writing songs. during this time, ed took evan to a lot of hardcore shows, and he eventually started to listen to bands like a static lullaby, thursday and silverstein (along with a few metalcore acts). during this time, evan and ed had written most of the 2003 self-titled demo, but they were still desperately looking for a bassist and a drummer. eventually in around spring of 2003, chris and jared began to embrace "harder" music (moving from bands like finch, taking back sunday, and senses fail to bands like evergreen terrace and poison the well), and they decided to come back to their old band. after they had playe
