Most of Branches Band's songs are hymn arrangements, set for acoustic instruments. They have a touch of the old with new, borrowing ideas from bluegrass, jazz, and classic rock. The use of auxiliary percussion rather than a drum set give them a unique sound. The group consists of four members: Andy Braun, Rachel Braun, Jeremy Bakken, and Joel Rusch. While currently based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the band has traveled all over the U.S. and Canada performing at WELS congregations. Ultimately, as their website indicates, Branches Band exists to serve and praise the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through words, actions, and music. Their aim is to serve congregations, fellow Christians, and the community however they can through music.
