Michael Shepard started his musical journey back in 2001 when he founded the Indie rock band Lovedrug. As the principle songwriter and lead singer he gained a notable following around the world for the arena style rock sound of the band coupled with Shepard's distinct vocal style. After over a decade with the group, in 2012 Shepard decided to abscond to Nashville, Tennessee, take his pop sense, unique vocal style and penchant for powerful rockn'roll to a new level, embarking on a “solo" career where he brands this sound of “power rock" using his name as the hallmark for the band. Ergo the concept that “Michael Shepard is a Rock Band". The band has been working hard on preproduction for its' debut album, played a handful of shows and plans to go into the studio in the next few months. A late 2013 release is planned. Concert goers have described Shepard's new sound as “huge, radio-friendly, fun rockn'roll filled with shimmery hooks, massive guitars and sing-able choruses that will leave you humming for days."
