Leader, Dan Reckard, is an accomplished saxophonist and pianist who graduated from USC’s Thornton School of Music. Upon graduation, he was one of ten USC students to receive the Global Scholar prize for the six months he spent in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, studying music and language. Reckard currently serves as music director and conductor for the Theme and Entertainment Awards, and has played with the Jazz on the Latin Side All Stars and Bahian pop icon Gerônimo. Capital is one of the most sought after guitarists in Los Angeles for Brazilian music. He will be teaching guitar at Brazil Camp California this August and September alongside such notable musicians as Ivan Lins. Percussionist, José Gurria, has played with such luminaries as Maria Schneider and Lamont Dozier and is pursuing a doctoral degree in music at USC.
