Born in a Cent is an indie/punk band from Brooklyn (and Long Island). They've become known for their catchy melodies, radical political / feminist lyrics, and performances at protests and after-parties. The band runs the Brooklyn-based show space, the Manifesta Loft and book shows for female fronted / queer bands, along with benefit shows for radical collectives and organizations. The band also writes their own zine with political poetry, essays, and rants that they distribute at their shows for free.
