Boris Savchuk, a virtuoso violinist, is an Israeli artist renowned for playing Klezmer, Yiddish, Chassidic, and Traditional Jewish music rooted in Eastern European culture. Boris was born in 1948 in the Ukraine and began studying music at the age of six. He is classically trained, and plays viola and violin. Boris immigrated with his family to Israel in the Fall of 1990 and now lives near Ashdod. He has made seven CD’s of Jewish music in Israel, and is frequently featured as a guest artist with other musicians and vocalists. He is very active and highly regarded in the Israeli music and artistic community. Boris’s music is authentic, highly nuanced, and expresses great depth and dimension. It reflects the rich and diverse Jewish culture and spiritual milieu which thrived in Eastern Europe and which has been virtually lost to the generations since the Holocaust.
