Part of the duo, who were La Funk Mob and Cassius Hubert Blanc-Francard (French; aka Boombass), born 31 March 1967, is a French musician and producer. He is the son of sound engineer Dominique Blanc-Francard and the older brother of the French musician Mathieu Blanc-Francard, better known by his stage name Sinclair. Hubert Blanc-Francard fell into music as a child. As a teenager, thanks to the home studio set up in his bedroom by his father, he began to play with drum machines and synthesizers. Towards the end of the 80s he joined Polydor as AD and participated under the pseudonym BoomBass, in the emergence of French rap, co-producing MC Solaar's first album with Jimmy Jay. He along with with producer Philippe Zdar produced several important releases under the moniker, Le Funk Mob A few years later, the pair discovered electronic dance and created Cassius which became, alongside Daft Punk, and under the leadership of the Ed Banger label, directed by Pedro Winter, one of the spearheads of the French touch, this movement which has allowed French music to shine throughout the world.
