Graham Bond and Pete Brown ALBUM: 1 TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE (Chapter One CHSR 813) 1972 R2 NB: Issued by Harvest in France. NB: Reissued as Two Heads Are Better Than One... Plus (See For Miles SEECD 345) 1992 and Two Heads Are Better Than One, including Maltamour Soundtrack (Repertoire REP 4271) 1992. 45: 1 Lost Tribe/Macumbe/Milk Is Turning Sour In My Shoes (Greenwich G 55104) 1972 This album and 45 were the result of a collaboration between R&B bandleader Graham Bond and Pete Brown, leader of Battered Ornaments and Piblokto!, who'd also written lyrics for Cream and was a bit of a poet. The album ranged from R&B material, reminiscent of The Graham Bond Organisation, to more ambitious mid-seventies style jazz-rock with elements of funk. It has become a minor collector's album but the recent CD reissues have made it accessible to a wider audience once again. The See For Miles reissue comes with additional cuts and the usual excellent sleevenotes from Brian Hogg based on an interview with Pete Brown. The Repertoire release comes with notes penned by Pete Brown and material from the 'Maltamour' soundtrack that the two collaborated on.
