Artist
Bobby Johnston is a film composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has composed original scores for several independent films, including Wristcutters: A Love Story, Edmond and Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election. He often works with cult director Stuart Gordon. Johnston is known for his unusual approach to film composition: he uses only acoustic instruments and usually performs every instrument himself. On occasion, he will bring in an instrumental soloist. Most notable is his score to Edmond, which featured trumpet player Asdru Sierra from the band Ozomatli. His music has often been heard on the popular radio program This American Life and has been included on two of the show's greatest hits CDs.
