Bob Sledge began in 1999 as just a simple side-project, but with the amalgamation of Smith's smooth & searing vocals, and Peck's downtuned riff-based guitar grooves, the formula was working and interest rapidly gained. The band began taking things more seriously. In 2000 they released Do Not Run We Are Your Friends EP, followed by Motor Skills EP (2003), Space Monkey Single (2003) and Descendants Of A Monkey God (2004). Strong record company interest was followed by Smith's untimely departure and the band called it a day in 2004.
