Artist
Bob Hillary is former frontman of cult trip-hop group The Ruffness who toured the UK festival circuit for 4 years playing Glastonbury, T in the Park, Larmer Tree and countless others, releasing 3 albums. Previously also in a band with a certain Chris Martin from Coldplay, Bob decided to concentrate on his own musical direction and build a band around his more relaxed acoustic songs resulting in Bob Hillary and the Massive Mellow music. Reggae and country rhythms support beautiful tranquil vocals with soaring trumpets, organs and electronics building the songs. The sound is funky and hypnotic. ‘You Keep Me Warm’ is the perfect summer song, a big hit at their string of festival dates this year prompting a late summer single release for the song on record label Sonic360. It features backing vocals from successful solo artist Sam Brown (she has also sung with Pink Floyd / Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra) who happened to turn up to the studio randomly to pick up her bed after splitting up with producer Robin Wynn-Evans (The View / Dodgy / The Ruffness) who co-produced the song with Bob Hillary. Already garnering plays in their native Scotland from Vic Galloway and Jim Gellatly on Xfm Scotland the song is Bob Hillary and the Massive Mellow’s first single and is set to be the sun-drenched hit to remember the summer 2009 by! 1. ‘You Keep Me Warm’ (Radio Edit) (3:38) - Single Out on iTunes 25th August 2009 http://www.myspace.com/bobhillary User-contributed text is avail
