Boštjan Narat was born in Maribor (27. september 1976). He holds a PhD of philosophy and is also a professor of history, with more than a decade working as a musician. In 2001, he formed a band Katalena, which deals with the conversion of Slovenian folk stories. In ten years the band released five albums: (Z)godbe (2002), Babje leto (2004), Kmečka ohcet ali tretji prispevek k slovenski blaznosti (2006), Cvik cvak! (2008) in Noč čarovnic (2011) and gave concerts all over Slovenia and often abroad. In 2010 he released his first independent album, "Strah je odveč" (Fear is redundant), which has received extremely positive responses in both the public and the critic community. It has also been chosen for Album of the year 2010. In May 2012 he released his second independent album "Konec sveta vedno pride nenapovedano" (The end of the world always comes unannounced) and is also receiving positive feedback. Narat is also the author of several scientific articles in the fields of philosophy, among other things, for magazines Poligrafi, Phainomena and Traditiones. He has also acted as moderator and guest of many roundtables in the field of philosophy and ethnology.
