Blues Creation was a Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in January 1969 by guitarists Kazuo Takeda and Koh Eiryu, and singer Fumio Nunoya, following the dissolution of their group sounds band The Bickies. Recognized as Japan's first blues band, they initially performed covers of American blues songs before transitioning to a blues rock sound with original material. The initial lineup also included drummer Shinichi Tashiro and bassist Yoshiyuki Noji. Signed to Polydor Records, they released their self-titled debut album in October 1969, consisting of blues covers. Following Nunoya's departure, the band reformed with vocalist Hiromi Osawa, drummer Masayuki Higuchi, and bassist Masashi Saeki. In August 1971, they released their first album of original material, Demon & Eleven Children, on Denon/Columbia. That same year, they collaborated with singer Carmen Maki on the album Carmen Maki & Blues Creation, and issued a live album. The band disbanded in 1972 due to exhaustion from touring. In 1975, Takeda formed a new band named Creation, releasing their self-titled debut album that year.
