Bloody Woods is a Chinese neofolk project started in early 2005 by Bai Shui (白水, Eltan Renaxy). In late December 2005, Gu Dao joined the project as a guest vocalist. In August 2006, the self-released EP "Women In The Hole" was issued. One month later, Gu Dao and Bai Shui parted ways again, after which Bloody Woods returned to being a solo project. 2. Bloodywood is an Indian metal band from New Delhi formed in 2016. The band originally began as a parody project, uploading metal covers of pop songs to YouTube. It was founded by Karan Katiyar and Jayant Bhadula, who met after Katiyar had previously been producing parody metal covers of Bollywood songs but had difficulty finding a consistent vocalist. Katiyar later left his job as a corporate lawyer to focus on music full-time, and together with Bhadula formed a two-member project intended initially to rework pop songs in a metal style. In 2017, Bloodywood released a metal cover of Linkin Park’s song "Heavy", which gained online attention. They also released additional covers, including a metal version of the Punjabi song "Tunak Tunak Tun" by Daler Mehndi, and later compiled several releases into "Anti-Pop Vol. 1".
