Blackscape is a Swedish metal trio formed in 2018. The members have a past in a number of bands (Darkane, STASS, F.K.Ü, The Project Hate) and when their paths crossed during previous collaborations, the formation was inevitable. The trio´s debut album Suffocated by the Sun sums up everything Blackscape stands for. The soundscape is dominated by heavy riffs with a blend of thrash metal and death metal in catchy compositions with innovative guitar work, haunting melodies, breakneck drums, and a strong versatile lead vocal. The content of the lyrics matches the dark tone of the music and originates from painful existential awakenings and inner human struggles in absurd realities. The songs give space and opportunity to highlight each member's sick quirks and let them merge into a tasty hellish brew. The album is mixed and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studios (Bloodbath, Decapitated, Darkane) and the cover artwork is done by the great Pär Olofsson.
